Well Petunia choose to turn away from Lily without Lily doing anything really. Except having magic.
Lily confronted Snape and ended their friendship. Of course Snape could have just apologized before he called her a mudblood and stopped hanging out with Death Eaters. But he also had a bad childhood and lots of issues.
Petunia just choose to hate Lily because she was jealous.

Snape may have had a bad childhood, but that wasn't Lily's fault. She tried to be his friend and give him lots of chances, but he wouldn't take them.
Petunia too was unfair to Lily, but she tried to make up for it by making sure Lily didn't die in vain. It can be argued that Dumbledore played a role in that, but that can't be the only reason, since Petunia continued to protect Harry after Dumbledore's death.

Yes and that's Snape fault and he behaved wrong. But he did have lots of issues to deal with and it was probably made worse by being bullied at school when he was finally away from his abusive father.

Well did Petunia know Dumbledore had died? I don't know if she would have taken Harry in without being scared by Dumbledore. Maybe in the 7th book she would have but not when Harry was a baby. After all she hates anything not normal.

You can replace Petunia with Snape and magic with having dirty blood and it would still be true.

We never see Lily and Petunia's childhood, we have know idea if it was as drama-filled as Snape's.

Of course not but I assume their childhood was a lot better than Snape's since there was never anything said about the Evans being bad parents.

Petunia was jealous of Lily and Snape just wanted to feel included, was bullied at school when he had escaped the abuse at home etc. Of course that's no excuse for behaving the way he did. The way he treated Lily was still wrong. But there was more behind his actions.

And I guess Snape always bullied Harry but what Petunia and Vernon did seems worse if you compare it.

I'm not a Snape fan or anything but that's why I'd see Petunia as a worse person.

That's the thing however. We are not shown much of Snape's childhood beyond that fact that his parents yelled a lot and it made him cry. That's not abuse. That's a shitty marriage and an unhappy home, but that's not unnaturally hurtful, not enough to excuse his behavior in the way that you suggest. Many people assume it was worse than that, but there is no evidence that Snape just didn't want to watch his parents fight.

We do know however that Lily and Snape lived close to each other in a poor neighborhood, which means that her parents were probably of similar means as Snape's. The fact that Petunia never much mentions or has pictures of her parents seems suspicious to me and the fact that Lily and Petunia despite being of an age where they should have other people to play with are playing by themselves is also kind of weird. Not proof of anything, just weird. Petunia at the very least seems very unhappy in a way that doesn't completely have to do with the weird things Lily does. But that's speculation, as is claims that Snape was abused. He was unhappy at home, that's all we know. Petunia was unhappy at home, that also all we know.

I see Petunia's actions as slightly worse in regards to Harry, but Snape is clearly the worse person. He seems to have no problem with treating any children, regardless of background, similarly to how he treats Harry. That's not right.
