Both sides were being fucking stupid. I was on fandom's side, but I cringed in embarrassment every time someone C&Ped that song from AWE in protest. Because clearly, the best way to take a stand against an evil and uncaring corporation is to use a song from a movie that was made by an evil and uncaring corporation as your rallying cry.

Haha, guys, the LJ/6A/WFI people are giant douches, but this incident is in no way comparable to the Holocaust, 1984, or Fahrenheit 451.

Definitely. ♥ I think none of this should've happened, but, y'know... a few journals got supspended and then LJ apologized. It's not like they're seriously deleting the journals of everyone who ever wrote slashfic or anything. Not close to the Holocaust at all. o_O

As I believe it has been mentioned elsewhere (possibly fandom wank) there is a lot of irony invovled with the fandom supporters "singing" that particular song considering the singers all got hung in the end =x;;;

Still, both sides of the arguement has made me terribly embarrassed myself. I'll be happy when it's all swept away, to be honest.
