I really hope that no AA:I characters leak into the AA world. I'm fine with AA:I as a spin-off, and happy to pretend it's a separate universe. But if they try to fuse AA:I Edgeworth with the considerably more complex AA Edgeworth, I'd be really sad. :(

Eghh... I'd just be squicked to hell and back.

I'm incredibly put off by ships/romances that revolve around the idea of the male and female characters meeting when the former is a grown-ass adult and the latter a young child, and then years later WOWZERS THAT LITTLE GIRL IS ALL GROWN UP LET'S GET TO HUMPIN' IN A CLOSET. Usually if the incredible age/experience/power gap is addressed at all, it's done cheaply and fast in a "baw I'm old" "I DON'T CARE I'VE LOVED YOU SINCE I WAS EIGHT" quickie resolution.

Maybe kinda irrational, but it always strikes me as low-rez child grooming. Major, major squick for personal reasons.

Unless you're referring to that one time they met when she was ten and he was twenty and he didn't even remember her name the next time they met.

You say that as if emotional maturity is irrelevant. If she's still that immature, then she shouldn't be pursuing a serious relationship ANYWAY, especially not with an older man.

But you were replying to anon, who said that he/she didn't like the idea of an older man later dating a girl he met in her youth. You said "well she's 17" but then pointed out she was so immature.

If you're fine with that sort of relationship, no problem. Everyone has different tastes. But anon was saying that sort of "man gets together with younger woman he knew as a girl" strikes anon as too close to child-grooming. So Kay's legal age is irrelevant, she's still emotionally a child.
