Deal with it. Women aren't all awesome and can't do anything wrong because of their vagina. There are bad women. There are annoying women. There are petty women. There are immature women. There are also good women, friendly women, easygoing women. Same with men, there's annoying me, petty men, immature men, and bad men, but there's also plenty of good men, friendly men out there.

This whole "women are above criticism!" thing pisses me right the fuck off. I've known some really horrible women in my lifetime, and it's annoying to realize about half the Internet would give them a free pass because they have a vagina.

I think you are replying in exactly the wrong way. OP said that being female was the problem. Poster you're replying to said (sarcastically) "You're absolutely right. It's vaginas that make people this way." And then you responded by this rant about how some people think women are above criticism, which as shown up exactly nowhere.

uh thanks for typing out a whole post i basically agree with? i don't think women get a free pass just because we're women, we can be assholes just as well. what i meant was that just because someone is female or something is an inherently female-dominated fandom does not mean they're GOING to be bitchy as op seems to be implying to me. people can be douchebags or sweethearts regardless of gender, and saying "i'm avoiding all female dominant fandoms" like the op is implies to me that they think because someone is female, a bitch is all they're ever gonna be.

Oh, OK. I misunderstood, it seems like lately there have been a lot of posts that WOULD warrant the response I gave, with people acting like woman are above criticism because they're women, and anyone who says anything bad about any woman ever is a misogynist. Happened not too long ago in another community where I was un-anoned and criticised a female character for being, well, petty. I immediately got jumped on for being a misogynist and that's where my mind went when I saw your post.

Sorry, I'm kind of sick and on a hair-trigger lately.

And ugh that sounds like shit, I'm sorry man. ): I think part of it is though that it's really easy for there to be a double standard in a lot of places so sometimes it's hard to talk about things without that coming into play.
