I'm in Merlin fandom. Since the characters are so amazingly angsty and full of feelings, the fic is quite lovely. There's a decent amount of PWP but (in my experience) it's little snippets of sex between characters that are in loving relationships. Even in the most plotless fics (again, IME), you rarely find sex without some kind of "OMG I'M HAVING SO MANY FEELINGS RIGHT NOW THAT I'M NOT EXPRESSING."

Thank God for emotionally repressed protagonists.

Well actually in Merlin fandom there's so much variety out there you can really find whatever you want, meaningless sex and men cuddling and crying and anything in between or beyond. But like, yeah. There are some fandoms where the slash is tragically bad and there's nothing good to be found, and some fandoms where the only good fic IS the slashfic.
