No worries, I don't mind the secrets, I just skip them (since I obviously don't know anything about the band).
I was just wondering if the band said/did something that prompted all the specific, ~they saved my life~ secrets.

Ah, I see. I don't know the specifics either, actually, but they're very popular among what a lot of people call the "emo" crowd and for a lot of their fans MCR seems to be a big deal to them.

They haven't affected me in that way, though. I mainly fell in love with the lyrics and aesthetics than anything else. XD I especially love their fourth album, since it's a 180 (they... changed from dark aesthetics to comic-book and sci-fi XD)

I think, in the beginning, MCR did start out with wanting to help the youth with the angst, since they themselves were pretty fucked up.

Isn't MCR the band with the aspiring comic book writer (or was it artist?) in it anyway?

Yup! Gerard Way wrote The Umbrella Academy! He hasn't illustrated any comics beyond the stuff he made in art school, though. I'd love to see him illustrate stuff - I read somewhere that he did some cover art for a comic book (I forgot the title.)

His current comic book project is The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, which actually has nothing to do with MCR's Danger Days, contrary to what most MCR fans seem to think. The current project is actually something he had in mind for a few years, and they decided to use this, as well as sci-fi movies and comic books in general, as inspirations to the visuals of Danger Days. Musically speaking, the influences on Danger Days come from all over the place, and since I'm not actually a huge music person, i can't really spot them XD..
