/sided with the templars my first game just because Anders, won't even lie

...not that it did anything, y'know.

I think I just wish they'd played up his whole thing with Justice more, because obviously that was the reason for it. But it kind of gets glossed over and you barely see it and it's just out of nowhere Anders is whiny and dickish and clingy and needy (not even necessarily in the romance sense) and you're like - !?!?

That could have been played up more, definitely. Although if you're in the mood for reading into things, it's like––damn it, he's not even actually Anders, really. It's all "Uldred doesn't live here anymore" over again.

And. YEAH UH. GAME. WHY DON'T MY CHOICES MEAN ANYTHING (other than how Hawke talks outside of controlled dialogue, and what party members leave/come back and I guess who you romance). :<<<<.

Anders is sort of Anders in the...very beginning of the first act! But then (I assume?) he starts changing over the years (?) and you don't really... get to see it happen or anything so you're just hit with it in act 2 and especially act 3 and are like "uh... what"

But yeah, it sucked how other than like "oh you get a random letter about it after three years have passed," nothing you do has any consequences or anything :| I also really, really hated how you're sort of forced to romance companions to get any backstory at all from them and even then they rarely have the depth the DA:O ones had

Even how Hawke talks isn't really up to the player, the voice kind of sets a tone whether it's the one you wanted or not and the lines rarely match up literally - I didn't really mind that, it was kind of just like controlling an RPG protagonist with a pre-set personality instead of an original-character Warden like in DA:O - but I can totally see how other people might find it annoying
