I ship freaking everything and am honestly not bothered by Zutara. If the OP had that thought, good for them and have fun with it and make that their head canon.
But since the OP apparently is already aware that the fandom looks upon such stuff by saying what they did at the end of the secret. Kind of looks like more picking at the wound, IMO.
And honestly, with Avatar the shipping is a festering wound that people seem to like to continue to pick at. Korra is now going down that route and the damn thing isn't even on yet. The first thing I thought when I saw her and that article was - "Oh Jesus, here we go again."
