omg so many people hating on their curly hair in this thread! Is there anyone else here who loves their big messy corkscrewy unmanageable bushy mane like I do?

I love mine too, but no lie it's probably about 90% because I am a slob who doesn't care and LOVES METAL. So when I wake up in the morning and see a big messy cloud of "I AM the 80's, bitch" on either side of my eyes I just nod and smile like "FUCK YEA"

You are not alone, nonny. I used to despise my hair so much, but after I got a decent routine down I'm actually super satisfied with it. It still gets a little frizzy towards the end of the day, but whatever, there are worse things in life.

It took me a very long time to learn to love my hair, and even though I do now, I still wish I could run a brush through it like 95% of my friends when I want to style it.

It's all about knowing how to take care of it.

I absolutely ~love~ my curls, too!

I've made peace with the high-maintenance aspects. Curls rock, and you couldn't pay me to straighten my hair!

The only thing I envy, is that long-hair genes seem to be more common among straight-haired people. Mine has come to it's full natural length...at just about waist length soaking wet. I always wanted Rapunzel hair, so this is very disappointing to me.

I'm....coming to terms with mine, lol. I've found my products and my processes and I know what to do to make my hair look fabulous while curly. but it's been an uphill battle, and there were a lot of times (particularly high school) when I wanted to chemically straighten it. Especially since I'm MAJORLY butthurt both my parents have straight hair. (I'm even half-Chinese and I have Brillo hair. NOT FAIR)

Well, if I could actually go out with my natural hair without people telling me I look like a slob, or giving me disgusted looks like I'm dirty and don't shower (when in fact my hair looks like a frizzy mess of shit when it's CLEAN as opposed to dirty -- another reason I don't like to wash my hair very often) then maybe I would "love it" yes.

My ceramic straightening iron is my best friend

I don't share the OP's gripes about brushing - my hair hates being brushed and styled, and I'd hate wasting the time to brush it! It works! :D
That said, and variety being the spice of life and all, curly-haired lady characters, fuck yeah!
