Echoing ceruleansan - are you me, too? I hate how I can't have a serious conversation IRL without getting all choked up and teary-eyed. I'm 24 and it's getting to be really embarrassing, but I have no idea how to NOT do that. And forget coherency; as soon as my mouth has to form words to argue my case for something, every thought in my head retreats into the abyss somewhere.

But give me a keyboard and everything clicks into place. I still get emotional and teary talking about serious things with people online, but I don't have to be embarrassed about it, because no one can see it.

Okay but, I'm not trying to criticize you (of course, I don't even know you) but don't you think that it might be better to try and figure out how to have a serious IRL conversation without breaking down? Because at some point in your life you are probably going to have to do this without being able to hide behind a keyboard. I honestly don't mean to insult you and I'm not trollin', but in all seriousness I don't think the prevailing attitude toward this subject on LJ is healthy.
