I have a new rule. I call it the "*gasp*" rule, and it basically goes like this: If somebody feels the need to type a sarcastically-asterisked-gasp in a sentence, it's because she's constructing a blatant and irritating strawman argument. It is right and just to just keep scrolling, because you won't get a good-faith argument.
Seriously - have you ever encountered somebody who typed "*gasp*" when they weren't blatantly and idiotically misrepresenting the other side of the argument?
