I think it's obvious that Takatsuki wants to be a boy, is male gendered, and is trans. Even just from watching the anime so far....
But what confuses me is whether Takatsuki should be referred to as male or female (at least at this point in the series, up to date with the anime). Should I use he, appropriately for Takatsuki's gender? Or, because Takatsuki is currently living as a girl and is not taking action to be recognised as a boy, should that be respected?
Usually in fandoms I would just match the gender and the pronoun regardless of anything else, but this time I don't know. Hourou Musuko just seems such a realistic series and I don't know what Takatsuki would want to be used.
