hahaha, this. sometimes I wonder if the people I watch things with have been living under rocks their whole lives when they exclaim that relationships have 'come out of nowhere' after piles & piles of buildup! I mean, it's forgiveable in real life but in fiction it's just... there's no way around giving hints at a possible future relationship between two main characters without being a bad writer, imo! (even if you do have to resort to a chest monster...)
