Ron/Hermione only came out of thin air to those people who have never read any books or watched any TV shows or movies ever. For the rest of us, it was obvious from book one.

hahaha, this. sometimes I wonder if the people I watch things with have been living under rocks their whole lives when they exclaim that relationships have 'come out of nowhere' after piles & piles of buildup! I mean, it's forgiveable in real life but in fiction it's just... there's no way around giving hints at a possible future relationship between two main characters without being a bad writer, imo! (even if you do have to resort to a chest monster...)
