But um... as a fellow English major-- I mean, we learn that the truth behind what happened isn't necessarily important, right? And what is it that makes something true, really? Um... have you read The Things They Carried
/barely relevant. anyway, yeah, that sounds like a metaphor to me, and metaphor =/= complete fabrication, yes?
