I always heard "poker face" as "fuck her face," and it made me really uncomfortable every time. I was never so relieved in my life as when I heard the entire song and picked up context.

(That being said, I think a lot of her songs are just interpreted as fandom-related. Her song Teeth? Makes me think of the mirror universe in Star Trek every time. I just choose to ignore the vampire nonsense.)

Actually, I've heard that in the chorus, the second time she is saying that. And it took ages for a radio station to pick up on it. Can anyone confirm? I watched a video where she talked about it at a show or something, so I'm pretty sure this is the case, but...

I can't confirm, but she overenunciates "poker face" to something more like "poke errrr face", which might contribute; she might switch out lyrics in live performances.
