I'm still playing but there's definitely a big pressure to go and buy Rift from my friends. I just don't see the appeal, and like you, can't afford two MMOs a month.
Which spec did you play, OP? You mention Forsaken so all I can think is a mage, but I don't know every class an spec.

(Anonymous) 2011-03-18 01:15 am (UTC)(link)I only mentioned Forsaken because they're a controversial subject among lore nerds such as myself. You can start a thread titled "Sylvanas." and the post itself saying only "Discuss." and it will hit ten pages in a heartbeat.
Rift is really fun. The gameplay is 10x better. But the story, man. Can't top that. I really shouldn't be so attached to a fandom that it hurts to look at it, knowing i can't participate. /pathetic

We have a Feral (gone tank, since our Guild Master/main tank left for rift) who still does amazingly good when he has to dps, but I believe that they have done a lot of changes. :(
You should convince your friends to go hang at the mmo-champ forums (the RPing bit) or something.<3
