Hm. I was never one for anything rated past R myself, but if I recall the early days of HP fandom, many of the people writing/drawing the porny stuff were teens themselves. Is it still pedophilia?

And then, of course, there are the people who prefer to explore the relationships of the characters once they were adults, because adults relate to one another differently than teenagers do.

Please, honey! I know authors and published writers; some who have had success and some who haven't. NONE of them wrote their works thinking 'Oh this is good but I just know it's going to be such a big hit that the slash writers will find it and hurt it'. It's that attitude that makes you sound egotistical.

You can be proud of your work and even confident about it. But worrying about a fandom that may or may not happen sounds big headed. Worry about jumping through all the hoops you'll need to get through to get published and then we can talk about a hypothetical fandom.

There are some published teens. Most of them are terrible, and only got published because "Teen Author!" sounds like a nifty sell.

Seriously, do you think JK Rowling was worried about fanfiction when she was writing? JRR Tolkien? George Lucas?

Also, you have seen all the good secrets on here, right? Secrets like 'I cry every time I read this' or 'It changed my life' or 'It helped me through a rough time'? Fandom isn't all about sex; good stuff can come out of it if you opened your mind just a little bit.
