(Anonymous) 2011-03-17 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)I'm in Hetalia fandom, I never rped or plan on rping anything like this, I use characters mostly to portray some light or funny events and amusing political situations. I don't mind dark things as long as they're not full of history fail and as long as they're not used as an excuse for smut or cheap angst. I hate everything that takes recent tragedy and uses it just for fandom entertainment. I understand and respect people's opinions when they say Hetalia offends them - they have right to feel this way. But - and it's not addressed to the OP sine they didn't say anything like that, just to some people in this thread - I do think it's unfair to say "I hate all Hetalia fans/fandom" because really, there are sensible people too. Plenty of them, in fact. But we're mostly quiet or in my case away from the big part of the fandom because of all that jackassery. Because it bothers us too and fighting with so much stupid is pointless. I know, I tried.
So I'm sorry again, OP. My thoughts are with you, your "friends" are dicks and believe me when I say that it's surely the opinion that many people liking hetalia share. It never even crossed my mind to think of Kiku when I heard about the earthquake in Japan, I was scared and worried for the real nation and real people, I still am. Don't let the jerks bring you down. Even in this fandom, you're not alone.
