I don't tend to respect or take anon posts seriously. That said, I don't get your reasoning.

I have seen some great anon posts.
But there is a lot of trolling by anons.
I am less apt to respond to anons. For various reasons.

I don't get their reasoning either. Are they looking for feedback? And they want it from people they know? That is the only way it makes any sense to me.

As I said, some anon posts are great.

I do not understand the great hesitance to get an account if you comment on a regular basis.
If you mostly lurk, I wouldn't bother to get one either, I never bothered to get one on fanfiction.net.

Pretty much this, yeah. I don't want an account, nor do I have any reason to get one.
F!S is the only lj community I visit, so why bother? I love commenting, and I don't care whether people recognize me or not. To me, it's logical not to get an account, even if others find it bizarre.

Posting anon lets people be freer with what they say. They don't have to get bogged down in all the "in my opinion," "I feel like," "ymmv" stuff just so people don't think they're assholes. And plus, most of the commenters here might as well be posting anon since nobody recognises them! If someone really wants to troll, it usually does them better to go and register a gimmick account like cedies or chix rather than post anon, since they get semi-famous and amass admirers to stroke their egos etc.

I can never imagine having the resolve to troll on that grand a scale. But I suppose it would be more effective.
As you said, there are enough of us here that we are near anon anyway. I've never felt restricted by not being anon here.

I think I just really like the familiarity of occasionally recognizing people.

Not sure what the context is here, so I can't really say if you're assumed echo chamber of crit you trust sounds all that healthy. It is good to realize that a lot of what's said on fan communities involves a lot of casual use of hyperbole.

I always tend to be filled with apprehension every time I see an anon comment in my inbox, just because so many people use the shroud of anonymity to be a complete and utter bunghole. I just eye them nervously like one would a person with no eyes, and just a mouth full of sharp teeth.
