I think a lot of people relate to Twilight Sparkle. Her "why do I even know you" faces and confusion about interaction feel like scenes out of my life.

[identity profile] roguebelle.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
ngl, the sheer volume of MLP on F!S is making me want to check the new one out, because I remember flipping loving the old series.

[identity profile] wynndfae.livejournal.com 2011-03-21 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
It's totally worth it. I'm a diehard old school fan (31; loved it from the very beginning), but this is such a fun, fresh look at the Ponies that I cannot help but love it. It's a very modern interpretation, but still carries with it the same feeling of girly fun and good, honest morals children (and adults!) could live by. Granted, there's a lot of fandom wank, but that's gonna be everywhere.

Do give it a shot. You won't regret it!

Hell yeah. 28 and I'm all about MLP. It's such a guilty pleasure <3

Needs moar Rainbow Dash.

(I'm gonna turn 26 this year, by the way - don't feel weird, it's an adorable little series and there are a lot of bad things going on in the world now. We can all use some simple happiness in our lives.)

"Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." C.S. Lewis

You beat me to posting that quotation: well played. I <3 Mr. Lewis for stuff like that.

And, yeah, adult male here who likes the show, even though I had never really considered anything MLP-related before now.

[identity profile] oflittlebrain.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, this. I love it. <3

[identity profile] ethereal-sky.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I came here to post EXACTLY THIS! Thank you! <3

[identity profile] judo-creature.livejournal.com 2011-03-21 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
That was the sexiest thing I have ever read.

Came here to post exactly this!

Seconding all the comments about being older and watching this series. Come to the internet, OP. We don't judge. Mostly.

Okay at least maybe half or the time. Or a quarter.

POINT IS! It's okay. We coo' bro.

As long as you're not a crusty neckbearded male, it's all good.

(Anonymous) 2011-03-20 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey chix!

(Anonymous) 2011-03-20 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank god I don't have "crust" or facial hair or I'd have to be offended at this post!

Nothing against the OP, but I really don't understand when people say things like "I'm too old for kids shows" when talking to cartoons. Most cartoons have just as much humor for adults as for kids. Watching My Little Pony doesn't make you immature or silly or anything like that. So just enjoy it for goodness sake :D

[identity profile] universejuice.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
If I'm going to be totally honest I'm kind of tired of people saying things like "omg I'm in my twenties I should not be caring about this cartoon series/children's book/animated movie/anything remotely aimed towards children!" Who cares what you like? If you enjoy it, you enjoy it, and MLP is a great show for all ages if you ask me. If anyone gives you serious guff over liking it, I assume they're just insecure about their own maturity. It's like the old saying goes--those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

This shouldn't have to be a secreeet...

[identity profile] standardtastic.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I keep seeing more and more about this TV show, and I feel I have to watch it. Maybe some day.

I was watching it today while straightening my hair to go clubbing. I'm not ashamed at all and you shouldn't be either!

[identity profile] seishin.livejournal.com 2011-03-21 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
No shame in it at all, darlin'. Im 31, and have loved MLP since the first TV specials in the 80's. I wanted to hate on this remake SO MUCH, but it's won me over with the power of friendship. And great animation. And storytelling.
