That aside, I'm sorry you have to go through migraines like that, and whatever you need to do to help yourself get through them is valuable, not insane at all.

It is funny after reading Secret 9 that Secret 42 would be about angels, isn't it? I'm going to be paying extra attention to the 42nd secret on all of these from now on.

Well, it's not really crazy if it helps you through the pain or makes you feel less horrible about getting them. And presumably no one will die on a ceiling or tell you to save to world, so I think this is a pretty cool way of dealing with it.

Well, the important part here is that you used the word "pretending". If you started really believing that you were getting visions and/or calls from angels, then yeah, there would be a problem and getting help would be a very wise thing to do. But if you did, you wouldn't be worried enough to make this secret. So you're good, OP. There's nothing wrong with telling the pain to go fuck itself by imagining it to be something interesting to you.

Though, uh, that this was the 42nd secret the same day that the 9th one got posted does creep me out a little.

It sounds like a good coping mechanism to me. Migranes suck, anything that makes them better is worth it in my opinion.
Hope you find a way to get rid of them entirely though.

It's not that insane to hear or see things right before the slamming of a migraine. It's actually common. I used to get massive migraines once a year and I knew they were about to begin whenever I would see sparkling flashes of white light, like fireworks. It was like a warning flare that made go, "Oh, Christ, to bed now!"

And if pretending about having visions or hearing Angels helps with the burden, then so be it. You're just pretending. Now if you were claiming that you were actually getting visions, then that would be a different matter.

As long as you know you're just pretending that they are visions or messages from an angel, it's nothing to worry about. If it gets you through the pain, so be it.

Whatever it takes for you to get through the pain, anon, you do it. *hugs* I really hope that you can find a medication or something that can help, even slightly.

It sounds like you have a really good coping mechanism. Maybe I should try that with my way too frequent tension headaches. I am both a huge stresscase and a huge SPN fan. Perhaps this would help me push through the pain.

I seem to remember reading back in the long ago and far away that some medieval Catholic and Greek Orthodox mystics' descriptions of their "visions of Heaven" were remarkably similar to modern descriptions of migraine aura + extra symbolism. So you may well be in good historical company, OP.

I get migraines like this about once a month too, OP. Maybe I'll do this to tolerate the pain/visions/sounds more.

Anything that helps you get through a migraine is a GOOD THING.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say that they are likely too far away from you (and others on this secret) BUT even if just reading the website/making a phone call might help it's worth it.

These people saved my life from chronic migraines. I have a life now, instead of being forced to live on disability/deal with that kind of pain. If you have tried everything with doctors and nothing seems to be working? I'd really check this out.

They have a different approach to headaches then most people do (for one they actually treat us like people who have a pain problem and not people who are looking for drugs/getting out of things in life.) Of course this isn't the fix for everyone but there is no harm in at least looking/getting information if it might help you to get pain free right?

Anon I wish you well and I truly hope you are able to find a way to live a pain free like because no one should have to live with that kind of pain. Ever. Also I'm glad that this at least helps some. .-.; Just a little bit of distraction from the pain can be the best thing for you.

Doesn't sound insane at all. Sounds like a way to work through horrible pain and feel better about having to endure it. Bless you, OP - I hope your migraines ease up or go away altogether.

See a neurologist, if you haven't. There must be some medication combination that will work for you. I have suffered for 10 years now and the migraines are getting progressively worse but some drugs are great in controlling them. *hugs*
