Well, inconsistencies with characterization or plot I can often overlook, but bad grammar sets my teeth on edge. I consider spelling and grammar to be very basic skills, so I don't think my standards are at all high when I backspace because the grammar isn't good enough.

I have to say, though, it's good not to take fanfiction too seriously. It is, after all, just fanfiction.
