Red and Black are my favorite games from the main series, and I think Black brought make a greater amount of nostalgia. Red/Blue/Green/Yellow ... When they first came out, it was new. Only that set of Pokemon. (Unless you count the show, in which Ho-oh shows up in the first? fucking episode. Mind blown as a child.)
Black and White brings another new set of Pokemon, yes, but it was like Red all over again for me, sans weird graphics, haha. It would be weird to bring in old Pokemon, as much as I'd love to have a decent water Pokemon.
But, you know... all of this is just my opinion.
