Curious: why does having a cast of all bisexual romance options (because all the characters aren't bisexual, Lady Hawke can flirt with Aveline until the cows come home and Aveline is just like "you're such a good friend to me, Hawke.") make the characters less consistent across all playthroughs?

Late reaction, but: It doesn't really, but it depends on how it's written. I had this in DAII with Anders, not so much with the other characters, who were new and for all I cared all were bisexual. But Anders was in Awakenings, and there he seemed a bit of a womanizer, never hinting at any attraction to men. And now (spoilers, btw), in DAII, if you play a male Hawke and choose the diplomatic option in the conversation at the end of his recruiting mission, he comes on pretty damn strongly and tells about the man who was his 'first'. This information, which is about the man you were supposed to rescue and ended up killing just now, doesn't come forward when you're a female player, where for all intents and purposes Anders is straight. I find this odd. Either this is information Anders, in a very emotional state at just having killed his first lover, wants to share with a Hawke he is attracted to, or it's not. But to keep it from female Hawke to present the illusion of heterosexuality? That just feels off to me. A character who has previously been presented as straight and continues to be presented as straight in some playthroughs, but is suddenly bi in other playthrough, feels... unrealistic.
Then again, I don't expect every character to go on a lengthy explanation of their sexuality. Like I said, I'm on the fence about it.
