They stated that Shepard has set attractions and personality, which is why Male!Shepard is straight. Which is logic fail of the highest order as Fem!Shep, having the same personality, should only be attracted to women as a result.

Though I was on the Bioware boards recently and Gaider got involved in a discussion about this and seemed to genuinely not understand why this was a logic fail. When someone explained that if this was true then Fem!Shep would have to be exclusively gay he finally went "oh, that makes sense", and then dropped it pretty much immediately. So...I'm guessing that they still won't do anything about it :/

Oh, it's generally best to never go on the BSN ever if you want to be able to enjoy BioWurr's games at all, and that is one of the many reasons why. I can see the excuse of "this character we already know, it wouldn't make sense for them to be gay" making some degree of sense, at least, depending on the character, but last I checked Shepard was the player's character, to a degree, and I think sexuality would be one that the player should get to decide.

At least we'll always have fanfiction I suppose, :c

This, so much. They might as well just give us the custom-Sheps and not let us alter anything about them if they're not going to let us alter personality and sexuality.

I generally go on the forums for my daily dose of RAEG, but was pleasantly surprised by the thread this discussion ocurred on - it was actually about the romance options in DA2 and everyone was being quite diplomatic and "even if I don't choose that route, it's good that they've included it!" about it XD

tbh, I honestly wouldn't mind if they did that, or at least had like... 6 different options all with different voices and responses to things. Maybe then the aesthetic choices you make in character creation or whatever would actually affect something.

I'm curious to see this thread for Gaider's response, I was looking for it earlier and I guess I was in the wrong forum for that, heh.
