Sounds good to me! I was pretty underwhelmed by the movie, but I really loved the two of them and their chemistry. I think well-written fic could totally help.

I said this exact thing when I saw the movie a couple days ago. The movie itself was pretty awful, but the worldbuilding and magic system were interesting -- I'd particularly like to see someone explore the extremely creepy implications of our lives being controlled by a supposedly omniscient corporate outfit that's constantly revising its "plan."

If nothing else, I hold out hope for Yuletide.

Funny, I walked out of this movie 1) wishing I could stick it in a blender with Inception for one really satisfying movie instead of two half cool/half meh movies; 2) wishing it could have a fandom.

I actually liked it a lot better than Inception. It owned its corniness in a way most mainstream sci fi movies haven't done since the 80's, it actually did have some great writing mixed in with the cheese, and it looked cool as hell. It was a fun, stylish movie. If it only had Arthur and Eames, it would definitely have a fandom.

Wait what, so this is a sci/fi movie?! I've just seen the posters and maybe half a trailer on TV, and I thought for sure it was some Bourne kind of movie... But then it wasn't worth watching much anyway...? In my op it's worse with movies that have a great premise but don't deliever, than movies that are just plain bad. I just don't like leaving the theatre unsatisfied. (I know I know, that's what she said...)

(Heh, welcome to my world. I'm still waiting for the fandom for many of the shows I watch, such as Queen Seondeok and Damages).

Yeah, I kind of expected more when I saw it this past weekend. The romance was probably what I found most unsatisfying. I had trouble believing in all the "fate" and "true love" stuff when it seemed so shallow. Elise was just as poorly developed as most female love interests are. Their "meet cute" was so unrealistic and predictable. I thought Inception at least had cool action scenes and a decent backstory for the main character. There wasn't much action in The Adjustment Bureau at all, and the suspense wasn't really there.

But give me a fic exploring Harry and his involvement with David/David's family... that I might enjoy. The interaction between Harry and David was the best part of the movie. It reminds me of Dean and Cas from Supernatural in some ways.

I was disappointed that the Bureau weren't human. It would have seemed a lot cooler if it didn't essentially amount to them being angels (with some restrictions in their power). Anyway, how could they have existed without doors and hats? Did they have some other form of power restriction back then?

I saw it a couple of days ago and I was thinking about how I'd love for it to have a fandom, or at least AU fics from other fandoms set in that universe (White Collar crossover! I mean, Neal is already wearing the hat), because it had a lot of potential.

My friend and I both walked out of this movie pretty unimpressed, but we both agreed the characters were good, just wasted on this movie. Some fic to rectify that would be nice.
