It'd be nice if a com existed for people who like it for what it is. The 4th book is utter fan service crap. The Volturi was a good sub-plot that could've been so much better. The 1st book had potential and was ruined by all the focus on Bella who is a ridiculously lame Mary-Sue character. I dislike talking about any anti-feminism within it because it's all pretty obvious... The whole series would've been better without Edward falling in love with Bella. I would've preferred Bella a little smarter, a little darker and more curious than "OMGHESOHAWT!!11!" and if any relationship was to occur that it would be accidental and not so forced. Ugh. I like vampire fiction and wish I could fix that trainwreck because it does have some glimmers of hope (and I don't mean the sparkling skin wtf). :/

My sister and brother in law love it so much that I've been dragged into its world. It's problematic enough to keep me from truly enjoying it, and I've oft thought it would be better handled by someone else who understands that, at its heart, this is not a romance story.

Agreed so hard. I just want a Twilight fandom that appreciates the books but not to that insane fangirly extent. I want an intellectual conversation that isn't like "OMG EDWARD/JACOB IS BETTER THAN JACOB/EDWARD" or "BELLA IS A MARY-SUE/STUPID" or "TWILIGHT SUX".
