People are always saying "obvious secret is obvious" and stuff, and I never have any clue who they are or why they're obvious. Even if I'm really involved in the fandom, I still have no clue. Maybe I'm just really oblivious.

I always think they really mean that if a certain party saw the post, they would be able to correctly guess who the OP is. That's certainly what I mean when I put that in my secrets. For example, I'm the one who posted the Maher Zain secret, and everybody on my flist would immediately know it was me from the fact that I'm one of the only people who is Muslim and care more about fandom than my grades. And I once ranted about Maher Zain :9

Unless it's a really small fandom that's involved, I find this kind of secret incredibly arrogant. Chances are, some of these secret makers have a deluded sense of just how popular they are in their fandom; a lot of other fans might, in fact, not have a clue as to who they are.

TL;DR - unless you're in a tiny fandom, don't assume that the whole of you fandom knows who the fuck you are.
