:( Oh man, anyone who says something like that is just evil. Though I actually do know people who are vehemently against adoption, which just makes me want to tear out my hair

I don't wouldn't say I'm against adoption, but I do see the difference though, and I dislike if people pretend it is the same as having you're own kid. Well that's just a lie. It's not that it's "not as good", but it's different.

It's just not for everyone.

(Just like having your own is not for everyone)

In the end it is raising someone else's child as your own. I can only applaud people who do it, but I wouldn't ever do it myself...and I do not understand the other end of the spectrum, where people ask "Why don't you just adopt?" to people who can't have kids...because I really do not see it as the same thing at all . Possibly gratifying, but not the same.

Oh, I agree with you. I was just referring to the fact that I have known people who are just against the very idea of adoption because they think it is cruel for a child to be separated from their biological family and that adopted children end up all kinds of deprived and screwed up because of it (which just really confuses me because obviously there are cases where a child is much better off being adopted that being with people who are unable to care for them for whatever reason)
