I believe in both cases both set of "bffs' were asked to play it up to shill their movies.

And for people who think I am sad cynic - observe the intensity of their friendships and declarations of love when they don't campaign for Oscars or need to sell some DVDs (TKS still has that thing going.). Odds are that they will be sadly non-existent. And I mean this because I would actually prefer it if this stuff were real.

o_o um yeah don't think this is true, at least for Jesse and Andrew (b/c I'm not that familiar with TKS or its actors besides HBH) who really could never care less about "image" to "play up" being bffs and are the biggest (not ill-meaning) trolls ever.

with that aside, on the actual topic of this secret I think both bromances are sweet but being a TSN fan and more of a Helena fan than TKS I'm biased towards the Jewnicorns, obvs.

Amy Pascal, studio head, used the Eisenberg/Garfield friendship angle to promote TSN for the Oscars in the one interview she did with Deadline. Not the director, not even the producers, the co-chairman of Sony Entertainment, the one that greenlights billions of dollars for movie budgets every year. And she knows and cares about and uses the friendship between the leading actors of her Oscar movie to promote it. Clearly, this reeks of a friendship so heartwarming that even the cold, hard heart of Amy Pascal was moved. *snerk*

this is sometimes true. it's not a well kept secret that this "pretend to be friends/dating" angle has been used countless of times in Hollywood. but with Andrew and Jesse? i don't think it's happening with them. they'll think it's stupid to pretend just for the sake of promotion

you know what, same goes for Colin/Geoffrey. they're older gentlemen, they've been in this business for a long time, it sounds funny as hell if somebody is making them pretend to be friends. they also don't look like they give a rat's ass about an image
