In movies these charactes manage to came up with realy good friends who's stay with them no matter what (it's easy to befriend a nice person, but only a real friend will stay with not-so-nice-person). And they always have those amazing romances that started with hatred...
Even in real life most of the snarkers I've met were treated like important people, others were very keen to know them, to befriend them. The opinion of these guys and girls (thr snarkers) has some real powers, has weight. People listen to them, want them to like them.
While whe you're nice, people don't pay much attention to you, like you're of no importance. Nobody seems to care what to say to you, (s)he may may not care if (s)he hurts you because he or she knows that you won't fight back..

Nicepeople are treated with respect very rarely...
At least according to my experience.

My relationship with my best friend is kind of like this, unfortunately. She's the gorgeous snarker whose attention and approval everyone lusts for, and I am the devoted best friend who always puts up with her shit.

It's not really a glamourous place to be, though movies are usually good at giving the nice best friend a Crowning Moment of Awesome where they finally tell the Snarker to fuck off. The problem is the Snarker usually feels bad at some point and apologizes, and that usually doesn't happen, lol.

The second problem is that the Snarker Girl always gets the superior, the hottest guy and the most awesomelove story. While the best friend is lucky if she even gets a guy at all. IF she gets. And he mostly is some mediocre excuse for a romantic interest.. =(
And this is how it is in real life. Guys don't like nice girls =(
