Yes, but my question remains: so what if they're judging you? Yeah, maybe it's rude of them; but they're not even your friend, so why does their opinion of you matter? So what if a stranger on the internet thinks less of you as a person?

Because I want to be respected. Go ahead, judge me, but keep it to yourself. It's common courtesy that they're lacking, and as a person, I deserve better than that.

Oh, were they actually saying to your face that they judged you based on that? Yeah, that's definitely a lack of courtesy.

I thought you were just referring to people who make general statements like "If you are a fan of x, I judge you" - in those cases I don't understand why people take offence, since it's really not personal.

Those sort of comments, I just laugh at. If someone says that to me, to my face, then I give a crap, but those comments just make me roll my eyes and laugh.

Probably because, even if there's no reason to care about that person's opinion, it's still irritating to have someone squawking at you about something stupid, especially if they're the kind that won't let it go
