I know, and I definitely do sympathise for Annie - I mean, that's a horrible thing to learn, and I DO understand why she went to the forest. I'm not picking sides, here, it's not a competition on who suffered more - it's not Annie versus Kat. I feel really bad for both of them. Annie has gone through something hugely traumatic, and she definitely deserves sympathy and understanding.

But as far as I can tell, Kat is getting most of the criticism when Annie hasn't exactly been all sunshine and roses as well. They BOTH deserve sympathy, and they both deserve criticism because neither of them handled it particularly well.

Their reactions are understandable. Reasonable, mature? Perhaps not, but they're just teenagers. But still understandable. That was what I was trying to get at. And at this particular point in time, Kat's the one who still needs to work through things - Annie seems relatively cheerful, and the stay in the forest HAS been good for her. But Kat's only just been reunited with her, and all those resentful, unhappy feelings of abandonment have got to be bubbling to the surface right about now.

I'm sorry if my earlier comment came across as one-sided, I really do feel bad for both of them. I'm basically just asking for a bit of empathy on both sides.
