Just listened to it. That...wasn't what I expected to hear when I saw Dean Winchester in the secret. Weird to anticipate mullet rock every time a song is associated with Supernatural.

For me Dean's theme song is forever Carry On My Wayward Son.

I'm inclined to agree, except I associate Carry On Wayward Son with both Winchester brothers -- Sam even more strongly than Dean, in some places.

Even so, I definitely feel you on the "anticipating mullet rock every time a song is associated with Supernatural," haha. Maybe because I imagine Dean just turning it off if it doesn't fit to his tastes. :P

I associate it with the brothers AND maybe more importantly with John. That's why I love that the song keeps being reused - it's like a little nod to Papa Winchester every now and then. It's like the show includes him a little even long after he's gone, all three Winchester together as it should be.

I can see it. I've always associated Dean with Ray Lamontagne's Empty. Dean would never in a million years listen to the song, but I think the tone fits the show well.
