Well, I couldn't say on a quantitative level, but I recall those who shipped the protein-nut boxer with the trench-coated puppy lover were quite the vocal bunch. I'm sure that didn't apply to everyone, but I have yet to see said pairing fics without an undercurrent of hate for Ken.

Quite a few last year hoped that Ken and Shinjiro would switch places in the PSP remake... if you know what I mean /sob

Ugh, anyway, it's mainly his voice and his relationship with the FMC that I've seen the most problems with. I never minded his voice, but I do kind of understand the squicky nature of the FMC/Ken ship, but, wasn't the romantic route of that link kind of hard to get anyway? I dunno... >_> I went the friendship route, so...

Either way, I think he's adorable =\ I'm glad I have a few people agreeing with me in this thread <3

I believe the thing is called 'Die for our Ship' on TVTropes, or some variant of it as Ken isn't a girl who has feeling for the character in the couple, wait...

The squick and concern behind it is pretty understandable. I will honestly admit though that barring the Shirakawa Blvd and it's anonymity, I don't think many people who like Ken/Mshe like it for shotacon/hebephilia, myself included. The romance is really low key, stresses out the issues (Ken is aware of them, go figure), and yet it strives for mutual happiness and understanding. It's a bit different from the norm, and I like that. But with the nature of Persona 3/4 and it's usually unsubtle S.Links... *shrugs* I do prefer the friendship route anyway, even as a shipper.

Ken's is actually not that hard, just tell him you don't have a boyfriend and when he asks why you spend time with him, say you like him and there you go. At least the flags are on the more obvious side, unlike the Star.

Oh, Ken, has strong feeling for one of characters in that couple all, right. Really strong feelings.

Could just be from what I've personally encountered but most of the hate seem to come from what happened to Shinjiro. Or the fact that he gets a romance route while *insert guy here* did not.

I do like seeing that Ken (and Yukari) do have fans. I was another thread somewhere else when this secret got posted, and while most boggled at anyone liking Eridan, there some who reacted badly at the inclusion of Ken.

I do like the sweet moments of the romance route but rank 9 of the friendship route was perfection to me. It had what wanted most out of his rank (talking about Shinjiro, interests in school, the future).

AHAHAH, oh the Star. Did anyone ever figure that the romance route without a guide?

I don't know actually, but oh god the memories of whiny fangirls who could and would restart the whole game for this man. I don't like Akihiko very much. His S.link is something like a "promotion from Akihiko's fangirl to his girl" fanservice, which is kind of silly to me. That and Plumegrise said there's a biased feel to the script of his Slink script. Something along the lines that he's supposed to sound conspicuous about his desires, but not a suave guy.

I was going for "Strong, murderous feelings. Towards Shinjiro." But I felt bad even joking about that since I love both Shinjiro and Ken.

It was a Homestuck thread. The reactions towards Ken was along the lines of "FFTTTTTTTTTTTT." Which is kinda understandable but it's disheartening when you see other people constantly hating on your favorite character.

I think there are some people who'd think the female route is something of a fanservice in itself? P3P was my first time P3. I didn't feel much for Akihiko at first but I did find him kind of adorable/dorky (adorkable?) in his social link. And that you have to practically shove point it yourself that he's in love with you. But then again, I found the "jealousy" talks between Ken and Akihiko hilarious so I'm not exactly a bastion of good taste.

I played the female route first in P3P and never played The Answer so maybe that colored my perception.

idk. I practically like all of SEES.

I played the Answer and loved it (ahahaha, more minority opinions, why don't I just stick to lurking, I'll never know) and I still liked her! Her actions were fairly WTFy, but she seemed to realize as much by the end and was pretty apologetic, so... :\

I did hear people liked her a lot more in the female route though, so that makes me a little happy C:

And I absolutely love everyone in SEES too.

Right! Sorry, I honestly totally did not mean to imply everyone who shipped it was into the whole shotacon thing D: I just meant I've seen some people get uppity about it. ^^;; My bad!

Ahahaha. I am total Akihiko fangirl, but I was perfectly content with going the friendship route because I ship him with Mitsuru. 8D I did hear a lot of people going to the guides for that one though! I guess Ken probably was easier by comparison. Derp.

Don't worry, I've known that implication for a while and I got a bit ranty there, my own apologies. I usually don't bring up shipping unless it's appropriate, because I'll let the disapproving looks be, despite all the how nasty they can be. We all can ship in peace, I swear! Last thing I want is wank... hence why I'm not fond of Shirakawa Blvd.

I won't lie, I did giggle at all of the repeated wails of Akihiko fangirls complaining "DID I MESS UP FLAGS I MUST RESET WHOLE GAME" on Gekkoukan High LJ. I don't think his is exactly hard, but flags are at rank 4 then 7 and very inconspicuous, so yeah, angry fans realizing they missed one months ago.

(Ehhh, I like Shirakawa Boulevard for the most part, because I just mostly ignore the wank when it comes up. I missed the Chidori wank, but I was around when the Ken wank blew up and was just like, lalalala scrolling. The only thing that annoys me about it right now is the total lack of activity (come on, 3 games included and we STILL have barely anything?! while P4's just has stuff all the time? /bitter B|) ... but contributions and requests seem to come and go in spurts, so meh....)

Hahaha, yeah; I felt bad for the other Akihiko fangirls, but on the other hand, jeez it's not like the "friendship" ending was bad! :( I don't think it's anything to restart the entire game over... but oh well. (You did get a cool gift from him at Christmas, apparently, if you were his lover. I was a little sad I missed out on that, but again, not a deal-breaker.)

/sorry for tl;dr apparently I have lots of feelings today XD
