Never thought I'd see an Anno related secret. *thumbs up* :D

I hadn't really thought about a fandom for the series tbh. I guess I didn't find the NPCs that interesting. Aside from whenever "an island" is mentioned anywhere I say, "It's a peaceful ILENT." And while playing a game with my boyfriend I had a widespread revolt amongst my colony which I called "The Great Chocolate Rebellion."

Once I accidentally destroyed one of the two churches in town and people instantly revolted, demanding they be allowed to practice their religion. And then they went and burned down the second church. :)

Thing is, I don't need NPCs to be fully developed complex characters from the very beginning. It's a game, not a film, after all. :) Besides, fandom often takes underdeveloped secondary characters from other sources and writes their lives as it pleases. There are a few basics set about the Anno characters and my imagination can take over from there, why not. I've always loved adventure books and now I can't help but wonder what might be going on in that world with those characters discovering the new lands etc. There must be great adventures and great troubles they're not telling us about! :)
