I was always very sad that carrots did not crunch like the sound effects used in the Warner Brothers cartoons. IMO carrots "snap" more when you bite them, and Bugs's carrots always sounded like they had a more "chewy" consistency.

Yes, the ridiculously strange things I thought when I was six. lol.

It depends entirely upon the carrot and the teeth in question, I guess. And whether or not the crunching is happening inside your head or not, changing the acoustics...

The 'sound effects' were just Mel Blanc eating carrots while he talked because nothing else could replicate the sound. He was allergic to carrots, too, but he had to crunch on them whenever he recorded Bugs' dialogue.
