yeah, that just seems stupid. Also it could also be said that you're being sexist by not saying cunt because you are acknowledging that women are different than men and should be treated differently and thus you are agreeing with the fact that they are second class citizens instead of treating them equally to men.

You see, all this nitty gritty sexism in the subtext of words is complete bullshit. I will consider someone sexist if they're making judgments based on someone's gender, not if they're saying insults that just happen to refer to genitalia that are a common part of our society.

Just finished reading the book so thought I'd throw in my view on the matter.

It's pretty clearly a heteronormative society. Bet you that the people in the Society don't even know that there are other options than straight. The Society has them geared up for straight and straight only. Why? Because they care largely about genetics and breeding stock.

Hard to genetically manipulate the next generation if a match can't have kids, right?

A great episode indeed. I have a soft spot for 'Operation Time', where the Mysterons declare that they're going to 'kill time', and we get glorious moments such as the agents informing Colonel White that they've looked up EVERY POSSIBLE MEANING the Mysterons might have for this threat ("They're going to blow up a clock! They're going to do something on the Greenwich Meridian! They're... going to go to the cinema? I DON'T KNOW") and admit there might be a few too many possibilities to check them ALL, and when Captain Magenta finally saves the day with a Spanish-English dictionary.

I have to agree with you. Riverdance was incredible, and all kudos to him for that, but as a person I've always found him totally obnoxious.

Liszt! Oh man. One of the teachers at the music school I went to had a HUGE poster of Liszt over his piano and I used to drool over it whenever he left his studio door open. Unf. There's a reason the dude was one of the world's first rock stars.
