Me too, OP! I just want to read about wacky adventures and Dean's love of pie, tbh.

It's not my FAVORITE part, but I do absolutely love it. I really enjoy gen fic in, um, general--I am all for hot sex, believe me, but I really love reading about strong, meaningful friendships too, probably since my friends are such a big, important part of my life and they're my family and whatnot.

I totally agree! I am a pretty big multi-shipper, but I LOVE gen for exactly the reasons you mention.

Totally agree here. I'm SO into h/c and SPN gen does that part really well. They have to take care of each other since the standard "healing cock" doesn't apply. :-)

I hate the mentality of feeling bad about liking genfic in SPN fandom! As much as I enjoy stories with pairings in them, if you really think about it, genfic is more close to the canon of the show. It makes sense to enjoy it!

I wouldn't say it's the best part of fandom (the random uses of gifs are!), but it's damn near close.

I'm glad t o know I'm not the only one. I don't really ship the bros with anyone...except maybe Dean and Lisa and the only fic I have is a crossover that focuses more on fighting a demon on the Internet than relationships and whatnot.

My favourite ever description of Stargate was "We go through the gate, we get into trouble, we get out of trouble, we go home." I want more SPN fic wher it's "We get in the Impala, we go to a small town, we kill something evil, we get back in the Impala, we drive into the sunset with classic rock playing in the background." Romantical entanglements need not apply. XD

Could you put that on a postcard and mail it to Sera Gamble? I think she needs that message badly!!

You're not alone, OP. The gen fic is what I usually look for. I want to read about Sam and Dean being brothers, not lovers. I want lots of family bonding, and heck, it would be nice to see more gen fic for minor characters too, like Ellen and Jo.

I can't seem to FIND the gen fic that isn't like watching paint dry....

I mean, I'm pretty shippy, but I love gen and it's not the easiest to find in this fandom but ALMOST ALWAYS WORTH IT :D

I love my slashfic, but I started out as a Genner - and GenFic is still some of the best fic out there! Most of my favorite writers only write/read Gen Fic. SO not doing it wrong OP!

No shame, OP! I'm a multishipper, but one of the most satisfying things in the whole fandom is finding a good, solid casefic. It brings back memories of "saving people hunting things" from the early days, and I love love love watching the boys in that dynamic.
