Not gonna lie, I had a similar reaction to Ed. I guess it's OK that I couldn't handle his life because it's traumatizing and fictional, but I can't even handle my life.

i had similiar reaction, actually, at first. i was just SO fucking happy i didn't have to live his life because it just sucked so much, and then i realized that i'm having problems with my own life and it's not even close to being that depressing. so, meh.

but later i realized that if anything, FMA inspired me to at least TRY to work at my life, to work for things i wanted in general... and it helped :) sometimes even just trying can be enough. and it's a start...

no matter how hard and impossible it seems now, you'll find your strenght. it's in you, trust me ;)

It's cool to use Ed as a role model because he's awesome, but you shouldn't negatively compare yourself to him. Look at his life! Most of us wouldn't be able to deal with half the stuff he does.

I would say that you'll find your strength when you need it.
