That's absolutely true. This is one of those times where I go "Gah, I forgot to include that part in the secret because I need to qualify my statement!" Some people simply don't curse. I have friends who I have never, ever heard curse. What always hangs me up a little when I see a character on these shows who seems like the type of person who WOULD curse, saying mild things like "son of a bitch" and such, but then don't. The sort of person where you might expect them to just curse up a storm when face with a situation of staggering horror and profound despair, the sort of situation that shakes them straight to their core even after all of their professional training and emotional restraint.

And to also be fair to some of the shows I watch, I've also heard "shit" said in passing a few times. You almost don't think about it unless you remember FCC regs. So there's that.

You completely have a point, but I don't know if it's that easy to predict who would swear up a storm and who wouldn't. People are complex. I know people who would swear with the best of them, but would never dare blaspheme*, for example.

*I also know a bizzare number of Jews who avoid saying 'G-d' in blasphemy but will happy say 'Jesus Christ', etc. I will never, ever get people.

what's so inexplicable about jews saying jesus christ? it's a completely empty "swear" to them.

It's not 'inexplicable', I said it's 'bizzare'. I understand why it works, but the idea of invoking someone else's G-d's name as a swear word just... seems bizzare to me.

I don't think Jesus is a God...

In most mainstream Christian theology, Jesus is the second part of the Trinity - and thus, G-d. Or 'fully G-d and fully man', but it gets more complicated from there, lol.

If you're saying that from a Jewish standpoint he's not G-d, then you're correct - but my point is that I find it bizzare to use other religion's deities in blasphemy. If a Christian said 'oh Krishna!' I'd find it just as bizzare.
