Someone knows Kabamarou!

My country's dub is so hilariously bad I loved it so much.

OMG OMG. I THINK I KNOW SOME OF THESE. I definitely know the girl putting her hand to her mouth on the right! That was my favorite video ever when I was a little girl. Please tell us what they're called?

[identity profile] delwynmarch.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Maya! Belle! And whut O.o ?? There is a Cubitus anime??

But yeah, growing up French made it really weird later on when I learned that in some other countries, there's this ~deep divide~ between anime and cartoons and whatnot. To me, it was just all "dessin animé", wherever it came from :P

*is now off to Google that Cubitus anime*

MAYA THE BEE!!!!!!

...it's actually because of that show that I'm terrified of wasps @_@

[identity profile] implication.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Lower far right corner. Is that The Blinkins?

(Anonymous) 2011-04-02 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Maya die Biene! <3

[identity profile] daniela-lynx.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't forget Latin Americans! :D Thanks to Mexican dubbing, I watched almost all of those when I was a kid! <33

I'm not sure what you mean by "serious"--for me MPREG is a squick in general, I'm not really sure why tbh, but that said, there are some scenarios where I can deal with it. They do sort of require being taken "seriously", though, in order to provide basis for why it's possible, which seems to get around the squick, somewhat. Basically if it's crack I'll get grossed out, but if there's enough justification or whatever, I can accept it.

Example, on an anon prompt, I'll skip reading any fills for prompts that are similar to "MPREG, X and Y are having a baby and X is all sensitive about the changes to his body" but I'll be intrigued by "MPREG, X needs an incubator for eggs and wants Y to carry them."

Well, I'm not American, but who said Western fans haven't seen these? Did yo meet them all to know that? I've remember some of these productions but didn't really liked them enough to even remember their titles. Different people have different opinions, you know. I prefer Western productions for example.

Wow, so many great series in one secret! :D I haven't seen all of these, but a few are my absolute favourites. I love Robin Hood, for example, and am currently in the middle of watching that football anime.

A few series I'd like to add are Treasure Island, Sandybell and Perrine. Such brilliance.

What is the series near the bottom right corner with the blue-haired guy and the blonde girl?

(Anonymous) 2011-04-02 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the only one I can name is Maya l'Abeille, but I recognise some others. I agree 100%, OP!

[identity profile] nohaijiachi.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
You had summarized my whole childhood in one pic. well done. XD

(Also, in Italy a lot of these series were censored =_= is the same for other countries, or we still have the nobel of puritans?)

YES *______________*

[identity profile] dudette-in-town.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I loved most of these shows when I was a kid, plus the moomins mentioned above.
I rewatched My Daddy Long Legs last year and I was creeped out by the relationship between Judy and daddy long legs(I forgot his name). Julia and Jimmy were my childhood OTP.

Belle and Sebastian OMG! My sister and I loved that show when it was on Nickelodeon. (Yes, we are American.) I remember being confused when they almost drank from a spring but were stopped by a sign next to it that meant "danger" or "poison". I didn't understand how that funny-looking squiggle could be a word at all. 20 years later, I realize it must have been a kanji or kana. XD

Ahhh...memories! Also Future Boy Conan, which I watched as a VHS fansub back in the day. ^^V

[identity profile] elegantpi.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Belle & Sebastian!!! <3 I'd also add The Mysterious Cities of Gold to that list. ^_^

[identity profile] snowgarden.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Many of those were also quite popular in Iran and Germany. ♥

(Anonymous) 2011-04-02 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Maya the Bee had an English version in the early 90's I think, but I have to admit, I am a little envious of those who were able to watch these in their childhood.

I only know a couple of the titles, though, so can someone please list them so others can try to find them?

[identity profile] tamabonotchi.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I remember seeing the bumble bee one in Germany a few years ago.

[identity profile] strike-you-out.livejournal.com 2011-04-02 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm American and I definitely remember watching Maya the Bee in the 90's as well as several others. There was one about a little girl and her talking koala that I remember pretty clearly that I think was anime as well.
