How do people hear all the words? I spent most of my childhood singing the final chorus as "Long live Cookie Street, viva Cookie Street, c'est magnifique Cookie Street", assuming it was some Sesame Street reference that would make more sense when I was older (perhaps they bought cheap cookies in bulk in Cookie Street, from Cookie Monster? Or for Cookie Monster?).

But then I was always a bit hazy on the details of what the Trotters actually did, because I only really liked the theme. Thinking about it, that was probably true of most 'family' TV: music! animation! oh, it's live action grown-ups talking. And it isn't even brightly coloured.
