They might be lying, OP. I make shit up about my life to make it sound more interesting; I expect lots of people in fandom do the same thing.

I mean, fandom is just not a place for well adjusted people. I have yet to meet a single one. It's a collection of minorities and victims pulling together for the common goal of something-"dom" - a place to feel included. There's probably something wrong in her life, 'cause she's here.

Really? But some people just like sharing their creative work with people who are actually interested, instead of irl where no one seems to watch/read that show/movie/book/etc.

In my experience those people who just want to express themselves creatively stay on Deviant Art or Fanfiction.net. Those people who get into fandom (building relationships with fellow writers, squeeing, etc) are always fucked up in some way.

I completely agree.

When my life is going good, and I'm playing at being a normal, well adjusted human being, I don't have *time* for fandom. I'm too busy doing things with real people, and having fun without sitting at home on the internet. I don't have time to keep up with cannon for things, I'm busy having a *life*.

When my life goes to shit, that's when I go back to fandom.
