I do the same, and regret nothing. Usually I get a lot of "must see this!" replies, but one time someone showed interest in filling and I got all panicky, because I knew who they were and they can't write or maintain characterization for shit. They were asking really stupid questions, wanting to write something that wasn't at all what my request was about, so I don't even feel bad for ignoring them.

I post most of my prompts with the intent of filling them myself at one point as well, but I actually get really excited if someone else fills them. I think the only reason I plan to fill them myself is because I assume no one else would be interested, so it's always a pleasant surprise when they are.

I don't understand why you'd do that. Why can't you just make a sockpuppet journal and post your kinkfic without making a request on the meme?

Makes me really glad that I wait several weeks before writing fic for anything I see on my fandom's kinkmeme. I really don't want to get someone like you as a prompter.

Where you make a journal under a different name (and don't tell anyone that it's you), so you can post anon, but not actually anon.

For example, most of the people who post at bad_rpers_suck use socks.

I do it, and here's why: I post a prompt on the kink meme to get feedback on the idea. If a few people seem interested, I write it. It's essentially like taking a poll on story ideas.
