I don't even watch the show, but the secret is so cute. If my hair was long enough, I'd do the same and put ornaments that correspond to the characters in it. Hello, I'm taking your geekiness up to eleven, why yes I am a huge dork.

Umm... isn't tying your hair back the opposite of doing your hair? I don't know about you guys, but the only time I wear a ponytail is when my hair is a disaster and I can't be arsed to fix it.

I dunno, I always tied my hair back and put pins in it and stuff when I had long hair. It was fun, I considered that making my hair instead of just leaving it hanging.

Fair enough. I guess it'd depend a lot on hair type as well - I have fairly curly hair so it's actually a hell of a lot more work to leave it down, y'know? (Though I shouldn't complain - if my hair is the right length with the right haircut, it does those large, loopy/wavey curls with no input from me. Just seems like a shame to tie my hair back when it's being all perfect, y'know?)

I know exactly what you mean. My hair's the same since I cut it. *pets hair* The reason I put it up when it was longer was because I liked the way the curls looked in a ponytail when the rest of the hair was straight.

My hair is currently terrible as I am growing it out for art. Er, cosplay. Close enough? Bleh, I just want to chop it off again (or make it grow faster), but I really dislike wigs so... yeah.

Oh yes, I get whatcha mean exactly with the curls in a ponytail thing - I like that look too. :3

yeah this is basically what I thought too. it's just grabbing a hairtie and pulling your hair back, and doesn't require you to have an actual hairstyle. It hides more than emphasises your hair. People who have their hair tied back are usually doing it for functional reasons, not stylistic, e.g. running or working in a lab.
it doesnt really matter since it's an inconsequential thing that makes the op happy, but yeah that's not styling your hair

Well, this show almost makes me want to dye my hair purple, and I don't even like purple that much (usually).

Kinda surprising to me that a lot of people apparently put their hair in a ponytail or bun when they don't want to do anything with it, since when I see soemone with a ponytail/bun it looks so nice compared to when I try to put my hair in a ponytail/bun.
