Is that At First Sight?

I've seen worse. Goodreads.com. Someone reviewed And There Was Light (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/288222.And_There_Was_Light) with the phrase "It has renewed my desire to kiss a blind man ;)" and I thought "Really? You read a book about a blind French Resistance leader who survived Buchenwald and your first thought was 'Oooh, I'd like to snog someone like him'?" If that was you, I'm sorry, but I'm still mildly weirded out (perhaps because he's still only 20 at liberation).

I might state an unpopular opinion but: Would it be so bad if it spilled over in real life?

I have lived with a blind person (my grandmother) for years and they are, you know, people like you and me just without sight .
And if born blind, chances are they are well adapted.

I'd say go for it if the opportunity arises....

Yeah, but where do you draw the line? What's a fetish, a kink, or generally a preference?. Men who prefer chubbier girls, would that be a fetish, too? Or finding glasses sexy? If OP treats them as they would any other potential boyfriend, I do not see the horribleness about it

yeah, that's what i meant--i wasn't worried about it in the sense that it would be terrible in real life (as opposed to in fiction), i was just concerned that it would/will come off as some weird fetishistic, patronizing, objectifying thing, and that's definitely not what i intended. :\

As long as you understand that they are people, not just fetishes, it's fine. There are many people who wouldn't want to date a blind person, IMO that's worse.

I hear you. my all time favorite fanfiction is about a blind guy. You should read it. lol I say that to every one it is so good and there's a sequel too. http://www.fictionalworks.org/forum/topic/13826-when-light-is-spent-chapter-one/

of the top of my head, the old Barb Wire comics has a blind character (Barb's brother Charlie)
