So you expect every fan to know every little thing about Godzilla? Look at it like this. If Godzilla symbolizes America, him coming out to eat the radiation can symbolize America helping.

I don't think that anon meant any harm. Who has seen Godzilla versus Destoroyah? He melts down and dies, and the ONLY reason his death didn't destroy Japan was the dead body of the younger Godzillasaur (Junior, killed earlier by Destoroyah) absorbing the radiation and mutating into a new Godzilla.

The message I get is very innocent. The anon wishes Godzilla could eat up the radiation and save the people. All he would need to do is walk by. It's ironic they used a Heisei era pic when that incarnation didn't care who or what he stomped. My previous paragraph could explain their reason for using a Heisei pic. Still, it might have made more sense if they used a Showa era Godzilla pic as 60's-70's Showa Godzilla was friendly towards humans.

Um.... you do know that someone can connect to something from Japan, which has been affected by an awful event, and yet not be downplaying it, right?

Like, if I made a secret about how I had more respect for Gackt now due to his efforts to help the victims, how would I be mistreating the event?

P.S. The secret contains Godzilla, which IS a fandom. None of the secerts are about JUST Japan alone.

yeah agree
there hasn't been a single secret about it that hasn't trivialised it by relating it to some (completely trivial) band or video game or whatever. ok maybe that's what your first thought was when you heard about it; maybe that's all you really care about, if you're honest; maybe interacting with fandom is your way of coping; maybe you have good intentions when you post that secret about how listening to vocaloids and fapping to shota will help japan. but fucking think for 2 seconds before posting your Japan secret and 99% of the time you will come to the conclusion that YOU SHOULDN'T POST IT BECAUSE YOU ARE AWFUL and the Japan situation is JUST SLIGHTLY MORE IMPORTANT THAN A FANDOM and shouldn't be brought down to that level

Everyone knows that you should only share those reactions of yours with fandomsecrets that are totally respectable and give you no fears that you are awful and that there is no reason at all to keep secret!

Okay, sarcasm mode off. Stop being a dickweed. Why don't you "fucking think for 2 seconds" about the possibility that the people who are saying "I wish fictional character was real and could help" are in fact giving Japan more real-life help than you are? I sure haven't seen a single secret about anyone saying "I believe listening to vocaloids and fapping to shota will help Japan!" so unless you'd like to post a URL and secret number I'mma hafta call that a bullshit straw man. Stop being a dickweed because strangely enough, attacking people for having thoughts which are related to both the Japanese tragedy and fandom is also not helpful to Japan.

If people need a place to admit that their brain went someplace that even they feel is inappropriate after hearing the news about Japan, and that place is fannish, then fandom!secrets is the most appropriate place to vent.

Would you rather they were saying things like this unabashedly, to someone's face, when that person has lost their home or members of their family?

Sometimes you have to express an idea in order to get it out of your head.
