Wait, people actually think he's dead for real?

I mean, I get the kneejerk emotional grief reaction, I had it too, but surely after a few moments your brain gets back into gear, I'd thought...

There was a lot of arguing that "trying to avenge your parents is heroic!" "getting stabbed in the back is not!" "how are we defining 'justice'?" and every three pages someone would go "Uh, guys?" (http://mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004528)

LOL! See, that page you linked to is exactly why I dismissed it being a for-real death really quickly, I was like, "OH FUCK HE KILLED JOHN, WHAT THE FU- no, wait, he can't, John hasn't destroyed Karkat's romantic dreams yet. Phew."

So I'm not sure why people are confused by this - either being stabbed in the back isn't sufficiently heroic, or there was some timeline-split we missed after they got to the castle (John and Rose are out of contact with the trolls at the moment, after all). Either way, he's not dead in the alpha timeline, so... yeah.

Except I'm probably just repeating stuff you've already concluded, so nevermind.
